Cameron Chun writes: A group of friends pulled together to put together this art show. I'll have 18 pieces of artwork on display- mostly plein air landscapes, a few drawings and portraits. We're having an opening reception this Friday, July 30 from 6-9pm and we'll all be there, Thanks and see you there!

Sergio wrote: "It was a beautiful day for painting, it started off with the coastal fog but quickly cleared up when it came time to paint. It got a bit windy as the time to finish crept up... Getting everybody back to meet up a central area became tough since the parking lots became crowded. Also, cell phone reception is minimal at best. I did circle around the lot at Goat Rock as well as return to the Jenner 'C" Store to see if anyone was there. I then drove to the Christopher Queen Gallery in Duncan Mills where I eventually met up with Glen and Janice. Janice then introduced us to Ron Quercia, the owner of Quercia Gallery in Duncan Mills. He enjoyed our paintings and we enjoyed getting to meet him!"

Janice L-H wrote: " This was a winner. Good views of the hills and the Russian River as it goes out to the ocean. Nice sunsets. It does get cold and foggy in the AM but sun comes out by noon. Views along the road to Goat Rock and pullouts along Hwy 1 have parking for a couple of cars. Jenner Inn Bistro Restaurant available for sit down meals..."

North Bay Plein Air Painters: 16th North Bay Plein Air Paintout - Sunday July 18, 11am-2:30pm

I love painting around Jenner and there is a new art show opening at the Christopher Queen Gallery in Duncans Mills the same day. Some of my favorite meet-up's have been when they tie into other art events.

It takes about an hour to get to Jenner from Santa Rosa, so plan accordingly.

Our meet-up point will be:

There is a good sized place to park on the side of Highway 1 right across from a gas station, so it will be a good place to meet.

Parking
Note: Very small parking lot. The owner has asked, Once you drive into the long driveway, please park along the outer skirts of the parking lot. This will help make room for customers that made appointment for wine tasting. No interior painting will be allowed.....good thing we like to paint landscapes :)

11:00 - 11:30am - We'll meet briefly at the parking lot or feel free to start painting!

11:30 - 2:30pm - Let's Paint!

2:30 - 3:00pm - Let's meet back at the parking lot to share our findings, techniques or just to chat.

Terrain Show featuring artist: Cameron Chun, Now thru July 11th

Cameron Chun will be exhibiting his paintings in a group show entitled "Terrain: Landscapes inspired by California". Cameron is especially excited about this show because he's been painting landscapes en plein air seriously over the last few years. These are the seven studies that were accepted into the show. They were painted at various locations from the coast to the hills of the Bay Area. The opening reception is Sunday, June 13th from 2-6pm at Studio Gallery.

The gallery is ongoing until July 11th, 2010. Many thanks!

2925 Ashby Avenue is north of College and before the junction with Claremont Avenue and fairly easy to find – there’ll be signs. Some street parking is usually available nearby with no restrictions. 2 hour parking is available on Pine and Russell and Claremont Court on the opposite side is a no outlet and usually has spaces. Sunday parking can be easier.

The traffic on Ashby can be relentless but make them wait if you have to make a turn!
