Hosted by Galerie-Julianne, Carmel, CA

Dolores St., 2 doors NW of Ocean Ave.; www.Galerie-Julianne.com
Come paint with us in beautiful Carmel, California, in the best fall season, among the graceful cypress trees, rocky coast and surf, a beacon to artists for over a century. I'll lead the way with my easy-to-follow approach, creating beautifully layered paintings in the timeless Craftsman style.
The dates are your choice, from Thursday Oct. 18-Sunday, Oct. 21.
Choose the days that work for you, as many as you like, just $95 per day (at least two days recommended--up to all four, best). Hosted by Galerie-Julianne (Dolores St., 2 drs NW of Ocean), we'll meet at the gallery and head out to paint (staying inside in case of rain).
Contact me directly to reserve now—
Email: MarkMonsarrat@sbcglobal.net; or Phone : 415-824-8819 (PST).

Accomodations, the responsibility of the attendees, tend to be more available and economical at this time of year, particularly for Thursday night.

Thank you, and we hope you can make it!.  --Mark

Our New Twitter Account - Please Read!

Please follow our new Twitter account! We have a plan to make it extremely useful for our painters during paint-outs - http://twitter.com/NBPleinAir

This is a joint account that Gerald and I are establishing. We are going to be using it as a mass communication tool for people to better keep track of what's going on during the day we are painting. Gerald and I will use it as a mass text alert system to let people know our whereabouts and what's going on. If you are already on Twitter, simply follow NBPleinAir and turn on text alerts for us.

New To Twitter?

  1. Sign up for Twitter and pick your username.
  2. Find our account: twitter.com/NBPleinAir
  3. Click on the "Follow" button.
  4. Click on the button with the black head-and-shoulder icon.
  5. Scroll down to where it says "Turn on mobile notifications"
  6. Click on it. This means that you will be texted every time we post to Twitter.

We will only use this Twitter to let you know where we are, weather conditions, anything pertinent to the paint-out at the time. We will NOT spam you! This is meant to be a service to everyone wanting to be kept in the loop of what's going on without having to call us or anything like that.

If you have any more questions please let me know.

31st NBPA Paintout - RING MOUNTAIN, Corte Madera, Sunday, October 23rd, 12:30pm-3:30pm

Ring Mountain Open Space Preserve

5300 Paradise Drive
Corte Madera, CA 94976

This location was recommended by one of our painters, Renny. There's parking along the sidewalks. But if that fills up, there's a dirt shoulders at the bottom of the hill (off main road of Paradise Drive - but you'll have to walk a little bit to get to the entrance of trail)
So walk up this hill towards the Blue trash can under the trees.

I only found 2 entrances. This one takes you closer to the top of the hill. The other entrance is around the corner of Paradise drive.... very flat entrance, I'm assuming is a much longer hike to get up on the hill.
Here's the entrance along Paradise Drive.

There's quite a few mountain bikers zipping down the trails. So make sure to set up off to the side.

Agenda
12:00pm - 12:30pm - We'll meet briefly at entrance to trail or feel free to start painting! Feel free to drive off and paint as well. Lot's of areas to explore!!!
12:30pm - 3:30pm - Let's Paint!
3:30 - 4:00pm - Meet back at entrance of trail. We will share our findings, techniques or just to chat (not a critique).

Limantour Beach, shore birds, and kelp
A little bit about Limantour Beach
A long, narrow spit of sand, bound between Drakes Bay and an estuary, is a bountiful wildlife area. Scores of shorebirds feed in the wetlands and along the beaches during the fall. Ducks abound in winter at old, freshwater stock ponds created during the peninsula's ranching era. Harbor seals are often seen bobbing offshore in the gentle waves or basking in the sun's warmth. Mother gray whales guide their calves along the shoreline during the spring. Dogs are allowed on a 1.8-meter (6-foot) leash on the southeast end of this beach. Dogs are not permitted to the northwest as this area is protected habitat for harbor seals and the endangered snowy plover.
